GPSMAP 96 & 96C
These new Garmin portables, the GPSMAP 96 & 96C offer full featured GPS navigation with extensive basemap, a Jeppesen database and topography, street mapping, and a GPS-derived HSI. The GPSMAP 96 has a sunlight-readable, 4-level greyscale display (180x240) and 23 megabytes of memory while the 96C has a 256-colour display and 119 megabytes of memory!
Physically, these units are the same size, sealed to IPX7 standards, (submersible in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes), with an internal quad-helix antenna, an external antenna connector, built-in USB interface.
